MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) provided a list of 157 countries where its nationals can travel to the Philippines for either business or tourism, visa-free, within a 30-day period. In a statement that was released by the DFA on Tuesday, it said it added seven more countries in the list namely Belize, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. However, Somalia has been removed from the list. Somali nationals may apply for visas at Philippine embassies or consulates in their countries of origin or residence.

As mentioned on the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Israeli and Brazilian nationals are given up to 59 days stay based on existing agreements while holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative (SAR) passports and Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) passports are allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa for a stay not exceeding 14 days. Meanwhile, holders of Macau-Portuguese and Hong Kong British passports may stay in the country without visa for 7 days. Nationals of countries who may enter visa-free can avail of the privilege by presenting a national passport valid for at least six months beyond the contemplated period of stay and a return ticket to the country of origin or onward ticket to the next country of destination.
